Coveris continues to expand its solutions for the bakery and confectionery industries and will present a wide portfolio at ExpoSweet. Visitors will be able to explore wicketted bags, gusseted and flat-bottom bags, block-bottom bags, stand-up pouches, barrier sandwich skillets and trays, wrapping paper, and a variety of food-on-the-go packaging. Developed with sustainability at the forefront, these products deliver recyclability, product protection, premium branding potential, and longer shelf life.
“Central and Eastern Europe continue to be crucial markets for Coveris, and we are excited to participate in ExpoSweet once again. The event is an excellent platform to present our innovative, sustainable solutions designed to support the dynamic bakery and confectionery markets in the region,” commented Emilio Vidri, Sales Director Consumer and Healthcare at Coveris.
Realising the circular economy in food sector
One of the show’s key highlights will be Coveris’ new recyclable HEAT packs, an innovative fibre-composite, dual-ovenable board solution that allows hot-to-go foods to be cooked, merchandised, and consumed directly from the same pack. Supporting a no-touch, streamlined cooking process, the design offers strong heat retention, protection, and reduced plastic content – eliminating the need for additional wrapping while enhancing convenience and shelf presentation.
Another notable innovation is the BarrierFresh MAP available in two formats. The BarrierFresh MAP tray reduces plastic use by 90% while maintaining recyclability and product shelf life. Combining a sustainably sourced board with a specially developed EVOH barrier film, it delivers a fully printable, hermetically sealed, single-SKU pack supports premium branding and high product integrity. The BarrierFresh MAP skillets are designed for MAP gas-flush packing, delivering quality and freshness of product to help reduce food waste. Made with proprietary Freshlife® technology and EVOH barrier lined structure, they provide strong product protection, excellent visibility and impactful shelf presentation.
Visitors will also discover MonoFlexFibre Pure Max, a monomaterial paper-based substrate for cereal, protein, and chocolate bars and tablets. Despite being designed from a single paper layer, it delivers strong barrier properties, excellent printability, and full recyclability within existing paper streams.
Completing the portfolio, Coveris will also showcase a wide range of recyclable and lightweight bakery and confectionery solutions designed to extend shelf life and maintain product freshness. The offering includes a range of pre-made solutions, like stand-up pouches, flat-bottom bags, PP or CPP-based wicketted bags, PE-coated or kraft paper-based gusseted bags, block-bottom bags; as well as HDPE-coated wrapping paper.
