Demonstrating its commitment to sustainable innovation through its No Waste strategy, Coveris will present its portfolio of recyclable solutions for grated, block and sliced cheese formats, developed without compromising shelf-life or product protection.

At the forefront of this is MonoFlexBE, Coveris’ award-winning packaging for grated cheese. Already successfully launched with several leading UK retailers such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s and ASDA, MonoFlexBE offers the same high-barrier performance as traditional non-recyclable formats, delivering a shelf-life of up to 120 days. Its PE-based mono-material structure enabled significant reductions in plastic weight and carbon emissions, while remaining fully recyclable through back-to-store collection schemes.

A major advancement in mixed polyolefin packaging, PolyFlex will also be showcased at the ICDA. Developed using Coveris’ extruded high barrier films, PolyFlex provides a recyclable alternative to nylon/PE laminates and matches current performance and shelf-life requirements. Delivering substantial environmental savings, such as carbon footprint reductions of up to 36% and weight reductions of up to 13%, PolyFlex’s potential was recognised with the Best New Concept Award at the UK Packaging Awards 2024.

Coveris’ latest innovations in sliced cheese packaging will be on display at the show, including PolyFlex to MonoFlex base web, a complete recyclable mono-material solution that can be disposed of together through back-to-store schemes. In addition to this, Coveris will showcase MonoFlexBE lidding, its peelable lidding film compatible with a range of existing base webs, offering producers a recyclable solution.

Visit Coveris at the ICDA on Wednesday 25th and Thursday 26th June to explore its latest innovations and complete packaging offer for cheese at the Staffordshire County Showground.
