Coveris Pirtó has been active on the European market for 35 years and produces flexible packaging for food and industrial goods, with an annual production volume of 2,500 tonnes of film.

Since the beginning of 2022, the Hungarian plant has been using 100% renewable energy, including biomass and solar energy. According to the local management, the decision to switch to sustainable production was not an easy step - but a necessary one on the way to a more sustainable future.

‘By switching to green electricity, less harmful CO2 is released into the atmosphere. This sustainable change will save around 700,000 kg of CO2 emissions. This will enable Coveris Pirtó to reduce its Scope 2 emissions to zero,’ explains the Managing Director of Coveris Pirtó, Gabriella Papp.

‘More and more of our customers are pursuing strict sustainability goals and this step supports their efforts to improve their carbon footprint. As a leading manufacturer of flexible packaging solutions, we are convinced that we can also inspire other companies and customers to take steps towards a more sustainable future,’ adds Papp.
