This milestone underlines Coveris’ commitment to urgent, science-based climate action and supports the company’s ambition to drive circular change through its No Waste vision.
The validated targets are:
Coveris S.A. commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 54.6% by 2033, from a 2023 base year. Coveris S.A. also commits to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions by 32.5% within the same timeframe.
These targets align with the SBTi’s trajectory to limit global warming to well-below 2°C compared to pre-industrial levels – reflecting the level of emissions reduction needed to avoid the most severe effects of climate change.
“This validation reinforces our responsibility to act now across all scopes,” says Fiene Száki, Group Sustainability Director of Coveris. “It highlights the importance of data-led decisions in building a circular future for packaging. Our No Waste vision goes hand in hand with measurable climate action.”
To support these targets, Coveris is implementing a group-wide transition plan, outlining steps to reduce emissions at every level – from operational efficiency and renewable energy sourcing to value chain collaboration and product innovation.
By joining the growing number of businesses with SBTi-approved targets, Coveris is taking decisive action to significantly lower emissions and make a targeted contribution to climate action.
