
Organised by Packaging News, the Environmental Packaging Awards recognise the most forward-thinking companies and products making a tangible difference in sustainable packaging. The competition showcases leaders and pioneers in sustainability, circularity, and resource efficiency.
Our five finalists and their categories are:
Sustainable Packaging Business of the Year: Coveris This nomination recognises our continued efforts and strategic commitment to leading sustainable change across the packaging value chain, aligned with our No Waste strategy and ESG goals. From innovation to implementation, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do at Coveris.
Sustainable Investment Project of the Year:
Nitrogen Generation System (Coveris Spalding) Our Spalding facility’s investment in an on-site nitrogen generation system has significantly reduced reliance on delivered gas, cutting emissions and supporting cleaner, more efficient operations in our production of linerless labels.
Recycler of the Year: ReCover Paper ReCover Paper, our specialist recycling facility in Coveris’ Paper Business Unit, is responsible for processing over 10,000 tonnes of production and customer waste each year. Driving our No Waste vision, ReCover Paper supports circularity by recovering materials for re-use and recycling.
Chilled/Frozen Pack of the Year:
MonoFlexP PaperFeel MonoFlexP PaperFeel is our breakthrough packaging solution combining paper-based tactile aesthetics with barrier functionality, offering recyclability without compromising on product performance. Shortlisted for our packaging for Lidl’s Butcher’s sausages range, these packs are a sustainable stand-out.
Food-on-the-go (Takeaway):
RecyclaLite 3/4 Lined Wraps This innovative ¾ lined wrap packaging provides a lightweight, recyclable option for food-on-the-move, helping retailers and brands reduce plastic use while ensuring excellent product protection and shelf performance.
