Coveris has been recognised by Learn2print as Apprentice Employer of the Year. The award was presented for its comprehensive label printing apprenticeship programme across its sites in Boston, Cramlington and Spalding. The award underscores Coveris’ commitment to upholding the highest industry standards and equipping apprentices with nationally recognised qualifications.

The apprenticeship programme in Coveris’ UK labels division offers three specialist pathways – Pre-press, Print, and Finishing – all leading to Level 2 and 3 Print Technician qualifications. Delivered in close collaboration with the leading UK training provider, Learn2print, this apprenticeship scheme combines monthly classes led by highly experienced tutors who provide essential theoretical knowledge, with hands-on practical training, supported by dedicated mentors at Coveris.

In recognition of the quality and impact of the programme, Coveris has been awarded the Learn2print Apprentice Employer of the Year Award, which is sponsored by Heidelberg. Five Coveris apprentices at the Boston, Cramlington, and Spalding sites are set to finish the Print Technician apprenticeship this year, with the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required for a thriving career in print. Four other apprentices have already successfully gone through all stages of the same programme and are now established Coveris employees.

Jon Bray, Managing Director of Learn2print, says: “With its forward-thinking training strategy, Coveris has demonstrated a strong commitment to developing future talent for the print and packaging industry. The Apprentice Employer of the Year Award recognises this dedication to preparing the next generation of print professionals with the skills and standards needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving sector."

Michaela Van-Noordt, Head of HR at Coveris’ Paper Business Unit, says: “We are delighted and proud to have been awarded the Learn2print Apprentice Employer of the Year. This recognition reflects the dedication of our talented apprentices, the guidance of our committed mentors, the contribution of our HR and recruitment teams, and our close partnership with Learn2print.

“Together, we are delivering high-quality apprenticeship programmes that provide long-term, rewarding employment opportunities within our local communities as part of an international business. Apprenticeships play a vital role in developing a highly skilled workforce - both for today and for the future - enabling us to meet the needs of our customers, many of whom are major brands and retailers.

“This award reaffirms Coveris’ commitment to investing in people and developing the next generation of leaders in the packaging industry.”
