At the upcoming Agritechnica 2023, the world’s leading trade fair for agricultural machinery, 12th - 18th November in Hannover, Germany, Coveris will present its sustainable stretch film offering for silage bale wrapping: Unterland R and Unterland Crystal. Offering enhanced sustainability benefits, these films respond to the agricultural market’s growing demand for environmentally friendly baling solutions. In line with the industry’s needs, both films are manufactured at Coveris Kufstein in Austria, using only renewable resources.

“At Coveris we built our entire sustainability strategy around the vision of No Waste as we believe that fighting waste in all its forms is the driving force of a more sustainable future. Our Unterland stretch films fit into this strategy well and offer the agricultural market what it has been looking for years – a sustainable yet highly effective and protective film for silage bale wrapping’, summarised Martin Wildinger, Coveris’ Agricultural Films Sales Director."

Enhanced recyclability and product protection

Unlike other films, Unterland R film contains at least 30% recyclate from collected agricultural films, as part of the ERDE initiative. Due to the PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) content of the film, 20 litres of crude oil can be saved per roll. Thanks to the above factors, farmers can reduce their carbon footprint by 23% and contribute to greater environmental protection simply by switching to Coveris’ Unterland R film. The multi-layered stretch film ensures the best possible protection for perfect bale wrapping. The film has been tested by trusted Coveris partners all around the world in different weather conditions and using various conventional wrappers. It maintained the exact same quality no matter the environment.

Improved transparency and safety

Visitors to Agritechnica will also be able to see Coveris’ Unterland Crystal film, a transparent recyclable silage film with a proven track record. The film answers the market’s growing demand for recyclable silage films by ensuring complete transparency whilst maintaining the same quality as standard-coloured films. By switching from coloured to transparent film, users can achieve considerable savings in the recycling process. The transparent film fits on all wrapper types without any adjustments, simplifies bale trading and effectively protects bales from external factors, like bird damage, during a guaranteed one-year outdoor storage period. Unterland Crystal has received great feedback from many European countries, including Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and the UK.

Interested? You can see both stretch films live at the Agritechnica 2023 show in Hannover, Germany, from 12 to 18th November 2023, by visiting Coveris at booth 27D26 in hall 27.
