The donation was presented during the company's Summer BBQ, which brought together colleagues and their families for an afternoon of food, entertainment and activities at Thonock Park Golf Club.

Representatives from Bearded Fishermen attended the event to meet employees and discuss the charity's work across the region. Coveris will continue its partnership with the organisation later this year, when Bearded Fishermen will visit the Gainsborough site to host mental health workshops to coincide with International Men's Day.

The Summer BBQ, initiated by the site’s Managing Director Richard Smith, provided an opportunity to thank Coveris colleagues for their efforts following a busy and successful summer period. Despite wet weather forcing organisers to move proceedings indoors, around 100 employees and family members attended the event.

Guests enjoyed live music, games, face painting and a balloon artist, while a prize draw gave employees the chance to win a range of prizes, including electrical items, hampers and vouchers.

Nicola Jablonski, UK Flexibles HR Manager at Coveris, said: "We were delighted to welcome Bearded Fisherman to our Summer BBQ and to present this donation in support of the important work the charity carries out across the community.

"Mental health is something that affects us all, whether directly or through family, friends or colleagues, and organisations such as Bearded Fishermen provide a vital source of support for those who need it most.

"The BBQ was a fantastic opportunity to bring colleagues and families together after an especially busy summer period. It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying the day, and we're looking forward to welcoming the Bearded Fishermen team to site later this year for their workshops."

Rick Roberts, Chairman at Bearded Fisherman added: “Bearded Fishermen and our family had the privilege of joining the Coveris team for their Summer BBQ event. It was an amazing day and we were made to feel very welcome by everyone; our kids enjoyed the games and ice cream and the food was fantastic. It was a great event and we had the pleasure of accepting a fantastic donation from Coveris for an amazing £1,000. We look forward to working closely with them in the future helping to support the team.”

Coveris Gainsborough is located on town's Heapham Road Industrial Estate and operates over two sites, employing more than 230 people.
