Vienna, 8 October 2026 – Protecting precision surgical instruments requires packaging that meets demanding technical requirements – and a partner who understands them. Since 2012, Coveris MediFlex has supported ophthalmic technology specialist Oertli with MediPeel® sterile barrier packaging, technical advice and close collaboration.
Oertli uses MediPeel® pouches made from PET-O/PP film and medical paper to package instruments for ophthalmic surgery. Suited to the required steam sterilisation process, the pouches feature a coloured film that facilitates visual inspection of seal integrity.
Expertise that grows with the partnership
The collaboration extends beyond day-to-day supply. Coveris MediFlex works with Oertli on packaging requirements for new products, advises on developments and helps explore future solutions. This includes providing samples of pouch concepts using uncoated Tyvek.
“Coveris MediFlex has been a trusted partner for many years, combining a clear understanding of our packaging requirements with reliable, responsive support. When a recent medical paper shortage put supply at risk, their team acted quickly to secure the material we needed while maintaining our quality standards. That support gave us confidence in a difficult situation,” says Robin Sägewitz, Strategic Purchasing at Oertli.
“In medical packaging, reliability has a significance that goes far beyond the packaging itself. Our partnership with Oertli shows what can be achieved when two companies build on more than a decade of trust, shared expertise and a common commitment to quality,” says Jan-Willem Bruijsten, Segment Director Medical at Coveris.
As Oertli’s needs evolve, Coveris MediFlex continues to support the company with medical packaging solutions and responsive service. On World Sight Day, their shared focus on protecting instruments designed to improve sight brings the MediFlex promise to life: ‘Protecting what matters most’.
