The Group also received Flexible Plastic Pack of the Year and Best New Concept Award, while Amberley Labels, its luxury labelling business, took home Label of the Year.

Celebrating its 20th anniversary year, the UK Packaging Awards 2025 took place in London on Wednesday 8th October, recognising outstanding achievements in packaging design, innovation, performance and sustainability.

Coveris was named Packaging Company of the Year in recognition of its leadership across sustainability, innovation, operational performance, and culture. Judges praised Coveris for its consistent achievements, noting: “Coveris has demonstrated exceptional performance across every judging dimension - innovation, sustainability, operational investment, and people.

Reflecting its expertise innovating recyclable flexible film packaging, Coveris won Flexible Plastic Pack of the Year for its MonoFlexP PaperFeel pack developed for Lidl’s Butcher’s sausage range, produced by Cranswick. Replacing a complex triple laminate format, MonoFlexP PaperFeel combines recyclability with a unique tactile paper-like finish. The monomaterial film maintains shelf life and protects product integrity while delivering strong shelf appeal for chilled meats.

Coveris also received the Best New Concept Award for MonoFlex Thermoform PaperFeel, an innovative development in recyclable thermoforming packaging. Formulated from polyethylene, the packaging is a replacement for traditional mixed material laminates, providing the protection of plastic with the visual and tactile appeal of paper. The solution is designed to meet the performance and functional demands of protein-based products such as sliced meats, fish, bacon, and cheese, while delivering premium cues and a contribution to waste reduction across the value chain.

Amberley Labels secured Label of the Year for its work with Aureus Vita’s Fibonacci Dry Gin. The award recognises the exceptional design and production of a label that reflects the originality and premium nature of the product. Digitally printed, the label features crisp typography and a rich, textured base. Highly embellished, including foiling, embossing, debossing, and UV ink, the label’s craftmanship and elevated aesthetic matches the product’s bold character.

Christian Kolarik, CEO of Coveris, said: “To receive four awards, including Packaging Company of the Year, is a proud achievement and a clear recognition of the progress we’ve made across the Coveris Group. It reflects the strength of our innovation in both paper and plastic packaging, our continued investment in people, sites and technologies, and the positive impact of our No Waste strategy. These awards are a real credit to our teams and how we work in partnership with customers to lead the packaging industry in a more sustainable and responsible way.”

Jo Ormrod, Chief Operating Officer of Coveris’ Paper Business Unit, was highly commended in the Woman of the Year category. Jo’s 25-year career is defined by a people-first mindset, strong customer focus and a strategic approach that continues to drive growth and innovation across the business.
