“Strategic investment in technology is key to how we grow and support our customers. By strengthening our operations in Poland, we are expanding capacity, increasing flexibility and delivering the speed and quality our customers need to compete in fast-moving markets,” said Christian Kolarik, CEO of Coveris.

Investments driving productivity and customer responsiveness

Increasing capacity using the latest flexographic advancements, Coveris has installed a SOMA Proxima high-speed printing press, enabling mainstream wide web applications to run at speeds of up to 400 metres per minute. Besides increasing capacity by approximately 30 percent annually, the investment delivers faster turnaround times, consistent high-quality print and greater operational efficiency for high-volume packaging formats.

Further expanding capacity in the region, Coveris has also invested in a LEMO bag-making machine producing wicketted bags in sizes from 230 to 380mm. Processing CPP, LDPE and HDPE films, the new line can manufacture up to 550 bags per minute. Used for bakery, produce and personal care products, the additional capacity for wicketted bags translates into shorter lead times and scalable production, supporting demand peaks and growing volumes.

Enhanced functionality for flexible packaging

Coveris has also introduced laser scoring technology for flexible packaging formats such as stand-up pouches and flat-bottom bags. The solution enables precise, clean opening features that improve consumer convenience. For food and pet food brands, this functionality enhances on-shelf differentiation and user experience.

Together, these investments reinforce Poland as a strategic growth hub for Coveris in the CEE region, combining advanced production technologies with scalable capacity to support customers with excellent service, high-quality packaging solutions and future innovation.
