Fresh food products require packaging that maintains quality and allows for easy resealing after opening. Coveris’ MonoFlexBP tray meets this need with an advanced resealing system that allows the tray to be reclosed multiple times, helping to reduce food waste and improve user experience. In addition, Coveris provides thermoformable bottom films that offer excellent product protection and help ensure optimal shelf life for a variety of chilled contents.
For applications requiring high oxygen barriers, Coveris offers a PET- and PA-free lidding film that seals, peels, and reseals effectively on PP trays. This resealable lid features a high gas barrier, essential for maintaining the freshness of perishable goods. The combination of recyclable MonoFlexBP trays and reclosable lidding films delivers a solution that balances sustainability, functionality, and consumer convenience.
“We are extremely pleased to launch MonoFlexBP tray for refrigerated goods. With this sustainable alternative to non-recyclable materials, Coveris continues to lead the way in circular packaging innovation, offering high-performance solutions that address both environmental impact and consumer demand”, commented Katja Killian, BU Flexibles Business Development Director at Coveris.
Fresh thinking now on the shelf
The MonoFlexBP tray offers excellent sealing performance and ensures reliable resealability for multiple uses. Its user-friendly opening and reclosure system enhance everyday convenience and supports food waste reduction by keeping products fresher for longer.
As a fully recyclable monomaterial solution, it supports environmental goals without compromising product protection or packaging performance. The trays are compatible with existing packaging machinery, ensuring seamless integration for manufacturers.
This solution is ideally suited for processed meats, sausages, dairy products, cheese, and other chilled or refrigerated items. It is available with a high gas barrier to preserve product freshness and integrity.
For added visual appeal and branding flexibility, the trays can be printed using gravure or flexographic methods and are also available with a matt or paper-effect lacquer finish.
